The Gift Enterprizers.
We think the radical party should be dubbed the "gift enterprize concern." The greatest "gift-taker" known is Gen. Grant, and he is radical president of the United States. Besides himself having drawn many gifts for appointments made, he has permitted all his hangers on to draw fortunes from the public crib.
One of the pioneers in the gift enterprize business, our readers will remember, was Mr. Geo. O. Evans, of Philadelphia, and after he has permitted so many of our people to draw nice little books and pictures, and bogus watches and silver-ware from his great gift-book-store in Philadelphia, why should be not know how to draw for himself and a few others belonging to the radical ring, a nice quarter million of dollars from the state funds?
Verily the radical party has been a big "draw" since it got into power. It has drawn under the constitution; it has drawn the states assunder; it has drawn us into three billion of debt; it has drawn hundreds of thousands to their graves; and, to do this, it first drew the wool over the people's eyes.
We think these fellows have done about enough of drawing, and that the gift enterprize and plundering shop should be closed by the people.
