Ladies. Ladies, Ladies!—Do not set your lovely faces against some of the vulgar iniquities of woman. An extract from a newspaper before us, says, that at the annual fair of several county Ohio, which is to come off in October, there is to be a 'Ladies foot race, for prizes!' Another extract before us, contains Mrs. E. Oakes Smith's opinion of women practicing law. We are willing to admit for Mrs. E. Oakes, a masculine mind, but it would be decidedly better employed in teaching the young acorns of the parent tree, how to shoot. In speaking of the 'Practice' of female Practitioners, Mrs. E. Oakes says: 'Emma O. Coe, I am told, has already entered into practice in Philadelphia, Pa.: Elizabeth Young is doing the same at Lowell, Mass.: and now I have a letter before me from a young lady at Mansfield, Mass., who has chosen a like career. This young girl, grave, self-possessed, handsome and intelligent, cannot fail to move in a sphere honorable alike to herself and useful to others.' We make no doubt, if she has sense enough to know the object of her existence, she will. If she does, she will go and get married and practice the domestic virtues.
