PRINCE OF SWARTZENBURG.
It is expected that the Prince of Swartzenburg will have an opportunity to discover his military talents in the present campaign. It was characteristic of the old Prince who gave that honor to his family, and who had the proudest palace in Vienna, that he saw into all difficulties, and possessed a good talent in disclosing them, but that he was not so happy in his resources as in his discoveries. The present Prince, though not so well known to us in his first, as in his last military achievements, was the Austrian ambassador in France, in the French Register of 1812. In July 1810 his name became known, from the celebration of the marriage of the French Empress, at which he lost his sister-in-law, the wife of the Prince Joseph, who was then in Paris. The flames which caught in the curtains, while the French Emperor and Empress were present threatened such a scene as our country witnessed in the Theatre of Richmond. He is said in the Register to have been born in 1760.—The Arch-Duke Charles was born in 1771, according to Le-Sage's tables. The Prince Swartzenburg Sondorshausen married a daughter of the Prince Frederick Swartzenburg Rostadt, and the unfortunate Paulina, was the wife of Prince Joseph Swartzenburg.
