Extract of a Letter from Sunbury, Oct. 14.

Yesterday between the hours of 10 and 12 o'clock, John Martin, his wife & family were taken prisoners by the Indians, at his house 6 miles from the town of Northumberland; about 20 yards from the house Mrs. Martin was tomahawked and scalped, but is yet living a miserable spectacle; the persons missing are, a daughter and grand daughter of Mr. Martin, and a young woman, daughter to one Catseden, who lives in that neighbourhood. I write in haste, as I purpose setting out with a party in pursuit of the enemy.
