LONDON.

Gosport, Sept. 5. A journeyman shoemaker of this town having fallen violently in love with a negro girl, of a very genteel person, about 16 years of age, (lately brought by a lady from America) made application to her mistress for consent to marry her, but being informed by the lady that the girl cost her 30l. in the country, and that she could not part with her under that sum, the young fellow set out immediately for the west country where he had a small estate worth 100l. which he converted into cash, and came up last week in quest of his african goddess, when to his surprize, he found she went a day or two before with her mistress to London: this however, instead of retarding, rather invigorated him in his pursuit and he instantly followed her to town with a firm resolution if possible to find her, and pay the ransom desired by her mistress, and dub her Queen of the Crispinian tribe.
