For the Southern Enterprise.

GREENVILLE, S. C., March 2, 1869.

Messrs. Editors—A lady friend, who holds correspondence with the Rev. R. L. Harper, former pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Greenville, has kindly furnished me with a very complimentary notice of that young and eloquent divine, with request to have the same published in your very estimable paper, so that his friends here may know in what high esteem he is held by the people he is now serving as pastor. He is the station preacher this year at Iuka, Miss. Enclosed you will find the notice alluded to.

Very Truly,

SAM. C. CLYDE.

The Iuka (Miss.) Gazette says that Rev. R. L. Harper, stationed preacher at Iuka, is one of the most eloquent divines of his age (only 22,) in the United States, and his modesty and childlike simplicity equal his oratory. All who hear him are perfectly charmed with his ornate and electrifying elocution.
