POUGHKEEPSIE, January 14, 1788.
The House met pursuant to adjournment. The minutes of Saturday were read and agreed to.
Mr. Tompkins, of Westchester, appearing in the House, was qualified and admitted to his seat.
The following Report from the Commissioners for destroying the paper money, was presented to the Chair, and read:
We, the subscribers, three of the Signers of the Bills of Credit emitted in pursuance of a Law passed the 18th day of April, 1786, do hereby certify, that we have, agreeable to the directions contained in the said Law, destroyed, by burning to ashes, the four thousand one hundred and seventy Bills mentioned in the above List, amounting together to six thousand pounds. Witness our hands this fifth day of November, 1787.

The House went into a Committee on the Governor's Speech, Mr. James Livingston in the Chair.
After some time spent on the same, the Committee rose.
A motion was made by Mr. Nevin, That the House, in concurrence with the Senate, would, on the — day of — proceed to elect Delegates to Congress. This occasioned some debate, as to the length of time they were to represent the State in that body; when, on motion, the consideration thereof was postponed.
The House went into a Committee on the Bill to regulate the re-packing of Beef and Pork, Mr. Taulman in the Chair.
After having made some progress in the Bill, in which several paragraphs were amended, the Committee rose.
Mr. Ganeyoort moved for leave, and brought in a Bill to establish a night watch in the town of Schenectady; which was read a first time, and ordered a second reading.
The House went into a Committee on the Bill to avoid unnecessary delays of execution, Mr. Ganeyoort in the Chair.
The said Bill having been gone through, the Committee rose, and reported that they had agreed to the same; when, on motion, it was ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
The House went into a Committee on the Bill for giving further remedy by actions of account, Gen. Gordon in the Chair.
The said Bill having been gone through, the Committee rose, and reported, that they had agreed to the same; when, on motion, it was ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
The Bill to prevent delays of the proceedings of the General Sessions of the Peace, and abuses in issuing out writs of Certiorari, was read a third time, and passed the House.
Adjourned till 10 o'clock to-morrow.
