Paris, Feb. 9. All the great Preparations of the English give us no Uneasiness. Our Measures are so well concerted that we shall frustrate all their Attempts, as we have hitherto done. If we may judge from their formidable Armaments destined for America, they are bent upon an Expedition against Louisbourg or Quebec; but we have provided for the Safety of those two Places by sending thither Reinforcements with Provisions and warlike Stores. And moreover, the three Men of War and two Frigates that were detained at Toulon by contrary Winds, set sail about the End of January, in order to reinforce M. de la Clue's Squadron, which waited for them at Carthagena. As this Admiral has received Orders from Court to put to Sea as soon as he gets this Reinforcement, he will attempt to pass thro' the Strait of Gibraltar: and we doubt not but he will happily execute it, as his Force is very near upon a Par with that of Admiral Osborne.
