A wreck occurred on the Mackinaw division of the Michigan Central railroad Wednesday morning, near St. Helens. Train No. 178 in charge of Conductor Millington, south bound, ran into the rear end of a train in charge of Conductor L. H. Alverson, breaking up the caboose and damaging two cars. The latter train, in ascending Ogemaw hill, broke in two, caused by a tier of logs rolling from a car. Train No. 178 which was following it, thus running into the detached portion. Conductor Alverson had a narrow escape from being killed.
