Full Text

Extract of a letter dated on board the United States ship Concord, at Elsinore, Aug. 1, 1830.

"We arrived here to day, came to off Elsinore, and fired a salute of thirteen guns, and it was returned from the castle with the same number. We have had a very fine time so far on our cruise, and expect to sail to night for Copenhagen. We shall remain there, it is probable, three or four days, and then proceed up the Baltic." I like the appearance of the country so far, very much; I had no idea that it was so full of vegetation. Mr. Randolph has been very unwell since we left England; we almost despaired of his life at one time, but he is much better at present."--[Fred. Her.
