Harmon Calls for First Conservation Congress of State to Meet in 1911.
Columbus, O.—Ohio is to take an active stand on the big national problem of the conservation of natural resources. In a formal message Governor Harmon has issued a call for an Ohio conservation congress. It is the first time such a gathering has been asked to meet in this state. The conservation congress will meet in connection with the fourth annual national corn exposition, which will be held at the state fair grounds, this city, from January 30 to February 11 next year.
As a special committee to make the conservation congress arrangements Governor Harmon named A. P. Sandles, secretary of the state board of agriculture; C. E. Thorne, director of the Ohio agricultural experiment station; H. C. Price, at the head of the agricultural department of Ohio State university, and C. H. Stevenson and B. H. Harmon.
