A man named McClain is said by police to have attempted to end his own life in a garage at 719 Heil street last night.
Police were summoned to the garage but when they arrived they were informed that the man had been taken away in a car by a friend. They learned, however, that McClain had gone into the garage and started the motor of an automobile, closing the door behind him and apparently attempting to end his life by causing the motor to release poisonous gases.
The police were informed that neighbors rushed to the garage and carried the man out into the open where he was revived. No intimation was given as to the cause for the act.
