INSPECTING GARDENS
The committee composed of Mrs.
Geo. Riddle, Mrs. A. B. Cornell,
Mrs. Amos Smith and Mrs. Stanton
Rowell, as chairmen of their respec-
tive wards are inspecting gardens
today. They will continue until the
city has been canvassed. If you have
not started your garden, get to work
before these ladies call. The pur-
pose of this committee is to create
interest and enthusiasm in war gar-
dens, to assist in securing plots for
those who have not space for a war
garden and to advise any in need of
assistance. The committee expects
to make calls about every five weeks
to ascertain how the garden work is
progressing.
It is a patriotic duty for each
family to raise their own garden
truck so far as it is possible. Dur-
ing the war the transportation prob-
lem is going to be serious and no
community should ship in anything
that can be raised in sufficient quan-
tities for home supply.
