His Majesty was pleased to return the following Answer to the Address of the Convocation of the Bishops and Clergy, presented to him on Saturday last; viz. "My Lords, and the rest of the Clergy, I thank you very heartily for this affectionate Address; the early Care you have taken to warn my People of the imminent Dangers which threaten this Church and Nation, from the present unnatural Rebellion, is very agreeable to me; and I depend upon your zealous Endeavours for that Purpose. You may be assured of my constant Resolution to maintain and support the Church of England as by Law established."
