SITUATION AT THE CITY WELL

Thirty-two Feet of Water in Well; Mains Full, and Water Flowing Into Reservoir.

Here is the situation at the city well this afternoon. The pumping was commenced yesterday afternoon. At nine o'clock last evening the pump was shut down on account of a hot box, but this morning pumping was resumed with the million gallon capacity pump, and has been continued all day.

At four o'clock this afternoon there was thirty-two feet of water in the well, the mains in the city were all filled and the water was going through the by-pass and running into the reservoir north of the city.

The big pump has not yet been placed in position, because the small pump is unable to lower the well fast enough, as the water mains are full and the water being forced up into the reservoir.
