GOOD NEWS.
From Washington, Aug. 20.

By a gentleman direct from Orleans, we have received the pleasing information, that the commissioners appointed for ascertaining the boundary line between the U. S. and the Spanish territory, have completed their task, that the Gov. of Orleans had personally attended, and expressed his entire approbation of their conduct, and hoped that the friendship which subsists between the two governments would remain uninterrupted.

The axe men had proceeded several miles in cutting the line.

The gentleman further informs, that the Indians are remarkably friendly—that he remained there two days in one of their towns, owing to the badness of the weather, and was treated in the most hospitable manner.
