Circuit Court

The November term of the Knox Circuit Court opened Monday, Judge F. D. Sampson presiding: the jurors were impaneled and sworn by the court, but the court was adjourned at that time as there were many who wanted to speak. The speaking begun at 11 o'clock a. m., and lasted until 4 o'clock in the afternoon.

Among those who spoke were: Hon. Charles H. Bays, Republican nominee for Representative. Hon B. C. Lewis, Republican nominee for Senator. Hon. F. D. Sampson, Republican nominee for Circuit Judge. Hon. Wm. Lewis, Judge of the 26th Judicial District of Kentucky. Hon. Jas. D. Black, Democratic nominee for Lieut. Governor, Hon. Sawyer A. Smith, Sheriff Sam L. Lewis and some others, which consumed the whole day, and Tuesday being the election day nothing was done except to hear motions, but on Wednesday business began in earnest and is still going on. There has been no convictions to the penitentiary as yet.
