Life of Columbus Subject of Splendid Film Show.
The Commercial club has prepared a circular letter which will be sent to all school principals in Shawnee county announcing the educational motion picture show that will be put on at the Auditorium Friday and Saturday nights. The feature of the entertainment will be the spectacular picture in three reels "The Coming of Columbus." The school teachers will be asked to urge their pupils to attend the shows on account of the educational value.
"The films show every detail of Columbus' life from the time he left Portugal to his final return to Spain in irons and his'death before released." reads the letter.
"We want you to see this picture program and believe it would afford the best and clearest kind of instruction for your students. A special matinee has been arranged for Saturday at 2 o'clock p. m. with an admission price of five cents for every body. There will also be two other fine subjects and special vocal and pipe organ numbers."
Other features of the program will be an Edison comedy entitled "Is He Eligible?" and "The Trail Through the Hills." a western subject. There will also be special pipe organ and vocal music.
The show will be given by Frank Klingaman of the Crystal theater. The proceeds will go towards the pipe organ fund.
