Full Text

Timely Discovery.

The Jamestown Capital says:

A Democratic precinct has been discovered in Dakota. It is in Charles Mix county, and will apply to the Democratic congress for admission to the Union. Action must be taken at once or the township will be depopulated by the drain on the inhabitants to fill the various territorial offices.

As a matter of fact there are several score of voting districts in the territory that gave Democratic majorities, and the fine county of Brule gave Gifford but fourteen votes more than Wilson. It is believed the next election will show fully one-fourth of the counties of the territory Democratic. It is not the most judicious policy just now to boast of the stupidly overwhelming Republican majorities in Dakota. The doorkeeper to the Union in the future will not be of that complexion.

There will be various bridges wanted of a Democratic congress.
