LOST A TON OF RICH ORE.

Two Thousand Pounds Went Down With the City of Mexico.

The Gold Lake Mining Company, at the head of which is ex-Gov. Swineford of Wisconsin, was thrown into consternation by the news that 2,000 pounds of valuable gold ore belonging to the company went down in the City of Mexico. It was not known that the company's representative, C. M. Archibald, had shipped it by that boat until Saturday. Steps will be taken at once with the view of getting back the estimated value of the gold from the steamship company.
