Business Suspended in New York.
New York, Feb. 22.—Business is practically suspended to-day and all the exchanges and banks are closed. The Custom-House was only opened for an hour this morning. The Federal and State courts are closed and also the postoffice. Early this morning the first company Washingtons Continental Guards marched to the Battery Park where they assisted the Veterans of 1812 in hoisting the flag. At daybreak, Adjutant J. Gould Warner raised the flag on the old fort in Central Park. Entertainments of various kinds are taking place in honor of the day.
