QUICK JUSTICE IN NEW HAMPSHIRE.
The trial of Evans, for the murder of the young girl Lovering, was begun at Exeter on Monday and closed on Wednesday, with a verdict of guilty after a half hour's deliberation, and he was sentenced to be hanged the third Tuesday of Feb. 1874, in accordance with the laws of the State. Our readers will remember the murder last fall at Norwood, N. H., as one of the most brutal and revolting. Evans tried to hang himself Wednesday morning before court opened, with his suspenders. This result is quite in contrast with similar cases in New York City.
