Three young men were surprised by the flood sleeping in an out-house, said to belong at Tile kiln, two of whom were drowned; their bodies were found, and taken to the Blue-Lyon-Alehouse in Gray's-Inn-Road.
Thursday night the serpentine river in Hyde park overflowed its banks (occasioned by the great quantities of rain that fell that day and in the evening) and the inundation was so violent that it filled the lower parts of the houses near the bridge at knights bridge to the height of six and seven feet with water, washed down one house and the poor woman that lived in it is missing, and damaged several others. The waters continued so high yesterday as to prevent any one passing: AND A NUMBER OF CARTS WERE EMPLOYED FOR THE CONVENIENCY OF CARRYING PEOPLE THRO' THE WATER; GREAT DAMAGE IS LIKEWISE DONE AT CHELSEA BY THE SAID INUNDATION.
