FROM THE BALTIC.

Capt. Lamon, arrived at Salem, on Tuesday last, 8 days from St. Petersburg, via Copenhagen; informs, that "he perceived a considerable degree of satisfaction among the Danes at the success of the French army, on account of its effect upon the English, against whom there is a prevailing antipathy. Capt. L. saw two fleets of English transports with troops, pass over the ground for Stralsund, their numbers said to be 40,000; and he passed another fleet between the Scaw and the Naze. These troops had been long before expected by the Russians, so as to have made a diversion in favor of the common cause; but their arrival was too late to produce any effect." [Centinel.
