The following is a list of the officers, soldiers, &c. that composed the garrison of Fort St. Philip:
Staff. Lieutenant-General Murray, Commander in Chief: Lieutenant-General Draper, second in command: Major-General Syden, commanding the Hanoverians: Major Kirollis, Quarter-Master-General; Mr. Don, Adjutant-General, nephew to Mr. Murray: Mr. Hamilton, Major of the place; five Aids-de-Camp, two Colonels, three Lieutenant-Colonels, and four Majors.
English regiments, No. 51 and 61, 62 officers and 881 soldiers. Regiments of Prince Ernest and Goldacker, 56 officers, and 824 soldiers; artillery, 18 officers and 132 soldiers; Corsicans, 3 officers and 6 soldiers; engineers, 5 officers and 20 workmen; marine 30 officers and 554 sailors; 1 Chaplain, 10 Surgeons, 2 assistants; 132 women and 17 children; in the whole, 3032 heads.
This list is signed by Cornelius O'Bryen, Brit. General.
Ordnance: 221 pieces of cannon in good condition, 13 that may serve in case of need; 133 useless; there are 17 of brass, the others are iron; 11 mortars, swivels, and howitzers, brass, and no iron.
Sick in the hospital, 1407 men.
