Home Rooms 209 and 206 sponsored by Miss Albertine Hopkins and Mrs. A. S. Harper, presented a very unique and interesting Armistice Day Program with John Jones as master of ceremonies.
The program opened with the audience singing God Bless America, scripture was read by Sallie M. Robinson, an instrumental solo was rendered by Velma MacDonald. A thought for the day was We are fighting on God's side.
The meaning of Armistice Day was interpreted by Morris Scott. Olga Chamberlain recited In Flanders Field, which was followed by the singing of America, The Beautiful by the students. An original poem For Defense was recited by Florence Hicks. After the program the stage was a beautiful scene with the United States flag displayed. The Flag had a war stamp on each star. The stamps were sold off the flag while the pianist played Any Bonds Today. The program closed with the students reciting the Pledge to the Flag, and singing The Star Spangled Banner.
