Then along came the Fashion magazines with their sleek editors and above all their fastidious artists to take the tall girls out of the doldrums. Discovering that clothes hang best on the tallest, slimmest of women, they told the ugly ducklings to stretch out, wear their high heels, carry their carriage proudly—that those over 5'5" were the most graceful and above all the most desirable.
And so the healthy, long legged well proportioned, typical American girl figure was born.
Now, if you're in the 5'5" over class, remember you have the real American height—the most exalted figure in the fashion world.
And if you're taunted about being too sparse—“no meat on your bones”—and having to pick only the tallest men for the short ones are unbearable—pay it no attention and shed no tears. For no one beats you wearing clothes and can attract more attention if those clothes are becoming. Moreover, this new look was envisioned and conspired for the tall girl. Certainly, she looks the grandest with the yards of material flowing about her slim, lithe body.
So make the most of your height and move as if you were truly proud of it. We guarantee you continuous wolf whistles and from all sizes of males for they are all suckers for the well groomed, confident girl.
