Jack Smith, Rt 2 Tazewell, exhibited the Champion lamb at the Tazewell 4-H Lamb Show held at the Tazewell Livestock Market on Monday, June 15. This lamb sold to the Farmers Bank of Clinch Valley, Tazewell. William Fuller of Cleveland, exhibited the Reserve Champion individual and it sold to the Tazewell National Bank of Tazewell. Also, Fuller exhibited the Champion pen-of-three and they were purchased by Acme Super Market, North Tazewell. The Reserve Champion pen of-three was shown by Jack Smith and were purchased by Peerless Packing Company, Beckley, West Virginia.
There were a total of 48 lambs exhibited by 4-H boys from Russell and Tazewell counties. Mr. K. C. Williamson, Extension Animal Husbandry Department, VPI, judged the show. Other sponsors of the 4-H Lamb Show and Sale were the Southwest Virginia Sheep Breeders' Association, Virginia Agricultural Extension Service, Tazewell Livestock Market, St. Paul National Bank, and Bank of Russell County, Cleveland, Va.
