Inquest Indicates No Plot Back of
Ireland's Last Flare Up
By United Press
DUBLIN, Dec. 29.—It is semi-
officially stated that yesterday's shooting
affray near the lodge of Viscount
French, lord lieutenant of Ireland, was
not an attempt to attack the vice-regal
lodge. The police said the affair could
be explained by the military. Lieutenant
Bost and a civilian believed to be
Laurence Carey were killed. There are
strong indications the shooting was not
an attempt by radicals to kill the vis-
count, but probably a mistake caused by
over-zealous guards.
