BRT Classes
Are Under Way

Classes in labor problems and legislation are under way in Youngstown, Ohio and Los Angeles, Calif. under the joint sponsorship of the BRT and BLF&E.

The Youngstown sessions, conducted by Dr. Dallas M. Young, represent the first time the BRT and BLF&E have conducted classes on their own, apart from the sponsorship of a university.

The Los Angeles classes are being conducted at the University of California quarters at 813 South Hill St.

President Kennedy and President H. E. Gilbert of the BLF&E, said, in a joint statement about the classes which the unions are conducting: "Labor relations are increasingly important in America's economy. For the benefit of our communities and ourselves, we believe formal preparations should be added to our practical knowledge and experience."

Commenting on participation of members in these classes, President Kennedy said,

"The importance of these classes cannot be stressed too strongly because of the unlimited possibilities they afford attending members."

He referred to the high interest held by students who have attended such classes in the past, and said their comments have been favorable, and many are awaiting advanced classes in their areas.

President Kennedy said he is very happy at the excellent response shown by BRTers to these classes.
