The 414th day room is gradually taking on the appearance of a modern club room, Corp. Martin E. Banasek, Squadron newswriter, reports. Two regulation pingpong tables have been installed and a wide variety of magazines is available.
A squadron dance will be held in Recreation Hall 5 Thursday and all are invited. Tickets may be obtained from Pvts. Howard L. Cranford or John S. Carey in the day room. More than 100 young ladies will be present, music will be furnished by Sgt. Russell Sessions' orchestra, refreshments will be served and squadron members will put on a brief talent show.
In the future, there will be two shows each month for the squadron's amusement, Pvt. Cranford revealed. These will include talent shows, minstrel shows, community sings and other features.
Winner of the final round of the squadron pingpong tournament was Pvt. Andrew Grove; Pvt. Saul Grossman is checker champion.
