Madrid Modernizes Her
Love Along New Lines

MADRID, April 26—(AP)—Even
the traditional and
time-honored
Spanish method of love-making
is
giving way to modernism.

It's a hard battle, of course, and
there's all manner of excitement and
discussion about it, but gradually the
old system by which young men put
in months or years on an old-fashioned courtship and see their dark-
eyed sweeties through the iron bars
which still preserve Spanish homes
from thieves and passionate lovers
is being modified in favor of the
theory that boys and girls should
openly and freely get to know each
other more intimately.

Already the day of midnight sere-
nades, reciprocal sighs hand in hand
and other such delicate touches of
romance have virtually passed.
