Troubles of the People's Party.
Boston, October 28.-The reply to a resolution adopted at the meeting of the people's party recently held in Springfield, recommending Charles Francis Adams for Senator in place of Charles Sumner, John Quincy Adams, son of the former, writes a letter declining such use of his father's name. The letter says: "Knowing as I do the paramount importance which Mr. Adams attaches to unity and harmony of action at this time I think it proper to say that having been consulted as to such a use of his name, he has refused absolutely to consent to it."
