Full Text

NEWPORT, August 27.

In a very thick Fog, about 8 o'Clock last Tuesday Evening, the Brig Charming Abigail, Captain Brenton Wanton, bound in here from the West-Indies, ran ashore just without Castle Hill. As it is a Sandy Beach, it's probable that neither she nor her Cargo would have been much damaged, had it not been occasioned by her Anchor, which she had out, the Fluke of which pierced a Hole thro' her Bottom. Her Lading was Molasses, about 8 or 9 Hogsheads of which we hear is lost. The Vessel is like to be got off.
