Full Text

Mr. Brawley, the well-known milk man wishes to correct the Prospector's assertion that it is the high duty on pumps which caused the raise in the price of milk— "The cause," he said, "is on account of the high price of feed. It has been necessary during the past month to feed my dairy stock and I will continue to do so till green grass grows again. Were feed as cheap as last year a raise in price would not be necessary, but bran now costs me $45 per ton; last year I paid $20 per ton. Barley this year costs me $2.50 per hundred. Last year I paid $1.50 per hundred all through the winter."
