Full Text

The Democrats of Mercer County after having applied to Supreme Court Justice Pitney for an order directing a recount in the votes for Sheriff last Tuesday, are much chagrined to find that many marked ballots were cast for their candidate in Princeton. Joseph S. Hoff, the Democratic candidate, is a Princeton business man, and he got almost the solid vote of the university town. But some of the collegians enthusiastically placed their class numbers on their ballots making them illegal, and in the recount they will have to be thrown out. It is said that there are not less than 150 such marked ballots in Princeton.
