Colonel Swaringen came in yesterday from Laramie canon. bringing in with him some specimens of rock, bearing copper and silver. The colonel's shaft is now thirty feet in depth, and the character of the ore is changing from copper to silver bearing, though it continues to be rich in copper. He thinks the ledge of the Star of the West. his mine, is fifty feet in width. He has also an adjoining claim, the Grand Prize. A mining district has been formed by the prospectors and called the Sacramento district. It lies in North Laramie canon, about seven miles northeast of Laramie peak. There are a number of prospectors at work in the district. The colonel is an old prospector, having had thirty years of experience in the occupation. He is sanguine in the belief that there will be a large camp at this district. The formation of the country is southwest and northeast.
