Departure of Mason and Slidell

Messrs. Mason and Slidell were released on New Year's day, and sailed for England on board the British war steamer Rinaldo. "A good riddance of bad rubbish." The pestilent traitors were not worth the fuss that has been made about them. It is quite probable they will find the climate of England to agree with them much better than that of their own country for some time to come. We suppose they will be quite "lionized" by the John Bulls, who have manifested such a deep interest in their welfare.
