IMPALED ON A FENCE,
Fall from a Church.
On Thursday last Mr. Chas. Hollinsworth, lately from Athens, Ala., while painting the tower to the new Baptist Church in the west end of town fell and received very serious injuries. He was standing on the roof in order to paint the shutters of the tower, and in aiming to move the ladder which he had used to keep him from slipping, his feet flew up and he started upon a rapid trip to terra firma. On his way to the eve he succeeded in kicking the ladder out of his way and fell a distance of about twenty-four feet to the ground. After falling about nineteen feet he struck the sharp tops of a paling fence upon which he was impaled. One of the strips penetrated his hip and another the thigh, tearing the parts in a very frightful and horrid manner. His injuries, twenty-four hours afterward, are not believed by his physicians Drs. Pepper and Whitten to be mortal, but are certainly very serious.
