Takes Good Look At Its Standing
At the April 13, 1961 meeting of the Frederiksted Festival Committee, the 1960 Chairman, Arthur A. Richards, reviewed the physical inventory and the financial standing of the Committee, and then resigned. Some of last year's accomplishments are:
1. a galvanized roof for the Village
2. the enlargement of the Village and the stage
3. the securing and planting of permanent poles for the stringing of additional decorative lights along Fisher Street.
4. the securing of additional decorative lights and new Pennants for the streets and the Village.
5. the securing of American Flags for decorating King Street on patriotic occasions. These flags were displayed during the recent inaugural parade.
6. a substantial cash balance which, when considered with the complete Village plus other equipment such as bulbs, electrical wiring and accessories, should make for more efficient 1961 Festival.
For these and other 1960 advances, the outgoing chairman wishes to thank all the individuals who worked diligently toward the efficient management of the undertaking.
