The New York Tribune contains the following announcement:

General Butler purposes introducing, early in the next session of Congress, a bill for the correct registration of voters in cities, providing for complete registration at least thirty days before a regular election, and for a public posting of the list at least fifteen days before the election. This list shall give every voter's name in full, and place of residence. The bill, as presented, will embrace several other important provisions, calculated to guard the purity of the ballot box.
