Tuesday last an Account was brought to Town by Capt. Cummins, who came over as a Passenger from Holland in the Packet-Boat, that on Wednesday last his Majesty's Ship the Princess Louisa, Capt. Bradley Commander, a Man of War of 40 Guns, was by Stress of Weather, forc'd on a Sand-Bank, entering into the Goree; (which is a Road not unfitly compar'd to Margate Road, on our Kentish Coast) that she had lost her Rudder, and lay all on her Side, her Keel almost naked, that Seventeen of her Crew were wash'd over-board with One Sea and perish'd, but the rest of the Men were sav'd; that they were at work upon endeavouring to save her and a Chest of Plate on board; but from the hard Weather and Storms of Wind at N. N. W. they met with after they came out, she was beat to Pieces and lost.
