NEW HAVEN, March 26. We learn that on Saturday se'nnight, there was an engagement between a party of troops belonging to the State of New York, and a party of the enemy, near William's tavern, a little this side of Kingsbridge, in which we had eight men killed and some wounded; the enemy had also eight men killed and several wounded, among the former one Captain and two Lieutenants. The night following the enemy surrounded the house, where our guard was stationed, and made prisoners of 28 men, among whom is said to be Major Fish, the officer who commanded the party in the action.
