'First' Nurse
YOUNGSTOWN, O.—The first young Negro lady to complete nurse's training in a local hospital was graduated last week from St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing here.

She is Miss Joyce Elaine Greene, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Greene, this city.

Miss Greene entered training at the Catholic hospital in 1948 along with Miss Laveda Marbury, also a Negro. They were the first two Negroes accepted in Youngstown hospital nursing schools.

She will join the staff of St. Elizabeth Hospital immediately.
