New Organization Is Being Called Flying Fishermen
Newly chartered sportsmen's club formed primarily to promote and foster Marathon and its surrounding waters as a fishermen's paradise was revealed this week by F. P. Sadowski, developer of Marathon Shores.
The charter, issued by Circuit Judge Aquilino Lopez, Jr. of Key West, also lists enactment of conservation laws in the new organization's aims:
Sadowski announced that privileges of the club would be extended to all visiting members of other angling clubs who come to Marathon Shores. Such facilities as docks, swimming pool, cabana club and hotel room and fishing trip reservations will be available to visiting sportsmen in good standing with their home clubs.
The club, which is being called the Flying Fishermen, will announce a program of citations and awards for fishermen, recording outstanding catches, at a later date.
Joining Sadowski as charter members of the club are John P. Goggin, Marathon Chamber of Commerce president, B. B. Parkhurst; Michael George, Elmo Capo and Irv Cole, local fishing boat skippers—and Mrs. Sadowski.
