Associate Justice Joseph McKenna of the Supreme Court of the United States has resigned after 27 years service and Attorney General Harlan Fisk Stone has been appointed by Coolidge to the place. Justice McKenna is from California and is now 82 years of age. Back in 1880 he was serving as Prosecuting Attorney of Solano County, California and then went to the Legislature and then elected to Congress. In the middle of his fourth term he was appointed U. S. Circuit Judge by President Ben Harrison. Then President McKinley appointed him Attorney General in his Cabinet and then resigned from the Cabinet to accept appointment on the bench of the Supreme Court.
