COL. TWITCHELL TO DELIVER MANY LECTURES

President of New Mexico Good Roads Association Accepts Invitation to Appear at Various Points Along the Ocean to Ocean Highway.

In order to awaken the necessary public interest in the different localities in the state Col. R. E. Twitchell president of the New Mexico Good Roads association, has prepared three lectures illustrated with lantern slides made and selected from the collections of the museum of the state of New Mexico, and will deliver the lectures from time to time in various sections of the country. The lectures are entitled "Points of Interest Along the Old Trails and Highways in the Southwest." They comprise the scenic views in our various ranges of mountains. the old mission ruins, the great communal houses of the cliff dwellers and the various industrial enterprises in the various counties and cities of the state. They will also cover the agricultural and mining industries in the various counties.

These lectures will be given free under the auspices of the local good roads associations. Colonel Twitchell has been asked to deliver these lectures along the line of the ocean-to-ocean highway from St. Louis to Los Angeles. and during the next two years as his business engagements will permit. After the state of New Mexico has been thoroughly organized he will do so, so that the people making the transcontinental journey to the Pacific coast Panama expositions may have some idea of the points of interest along the ocean-to-ocean highway. These lectures are to be delivered without cost and the tremendous publicity that New Mexico will receive as a result of their delivery can be readily imagined. Colonel Twitchell is the ideal man to make the lectures. He is an orator. author historian and lecturer. a good roads enthusiast of the most contagious type and altogether will prove a missionary of great worth in preaching the gospel of better highways.

Colonel Twitchell is anxious to secure a number of up-to-date views of Albuquerque which he proposes to use in one of his lectures. There is no doubt but that Colonel Twitchell's lectures will cause thousands of tourists to break their journey in various parts of New Mexico. when on their way to California, during the next two and a half years.
