Anthony Hope's play "The Adventures of Lady Ursula," has been selected as the current bill at the Lafayette Theatre, and the piece proves almost as entertaining as when presented here several years ago by E. H. Sothern and Virginia Harned.
White Whittlesey, now in his last week as leading man of the company, is sufficiently charming as Sir George Sylvester to warrant the Lady Ursula's rather unprecedented "adventure." Charles Wyngate has a rather toneless part in that of Lord Hassenden, but does much to lighten its monotony. Myron Leffingwell presents two good character studies as Quilton, a servant, and Mr. Devereaux, of the Foot Guards, and Frederic Sullivan does well with a small part.
Lillian Lawrence is seen to advantage in the role originated by Virginia Harned-that of Ursula, who causes all the mischief-while Antoinette Walker is a deliciously natural Dorothy Fenton.
