Reverend Womack was in Apache Junction last week on a preaching mission. Chaplain Leonard D. Kelly of Luke Field, a Methodist and member of the Texas Conference, supplied the pulpit. Bruce Field was layman in charge of the service.
The sermon, "Called unto Holiness" was taken from 1st Thess. 4th chapter, verses 1 to 7. Six points made by the Chaplain, taken from the book "Holy Habits of the Spiritual Life" by G. Ernest Thomas, were: attend church services, cultivate prayer; read the Bible; family devotions; grace at meals; witnessing.
The official board met Monday at 8 p.m. There was a smaller attendance than usual due to inclement weather, but those unable to attend sent reports. Mrs. Bittick gave an account of the Prayer Retreat in Prescott during which Rev. and Mrs. Womack were in charge.
The Worship Commission, normally scheduled Tuesday evening, was postponed due to Reverend Womack's absence from the city.
Conference date was announced as May 3. Daily Vacation Bible School will be June 4. It is not known who will conduct the School. Trustees held their meeting March 4 and are now working on plans for a new parsonage residence.
Other announcements of the week include the Well Baby Clinic, Bible Study Class, WSCS study class at Mrs. Thelma Wilson's, Inquirer's Class at Bonnie Ketcham's, and Chancel Choir Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
