A crowd of fully 5000 persons lined the streets of Milford Thursday night to witness the colorful civic parade held in connection with "Home-Coming Week," which was opened last Friday night with a competitive procession of State and Eastern Shore Bands, sponsored by the Carlisle Fire Company.

Attractively decorated floats, entered by business houses from this and other towns of the State competed for prizes the schools were also represented by entries, symbolic of events in American and World history.

More than 500 persons are estimated to have taken part in the parade which traversed the main section of Milford and disbanded at the grounds where since the opening of the "Home-Coming" festivities a carnival for the benefit of the local fire unit has been nightly attracting hundreds of visitors. A prize of $25 was awarded to Walter Atkins, of Milton who in the opinion of the judge had the best decorated automobile in the line of march. His entry represented Amos and Andy and their taxi. Second prize of $15 went to William Fisher. of Milford. whose auto was prettily decorated in blue and white streamers. In the school float division- first prize of $25 was won by the Sophomore Class of the local high school,who entered a float depicting the "Landing of the Pilgrims." The Senior Class of the school was awarded the second prize of $15 for the float. representing "Pages in History" students stood on the float large open books on which were given in huge letters the principal events and the history of the world.
